It is our aware, active parishioners who meet for luncheon fellowship and informational talks every month. Morris Hall is generally full with 56 to 95 attendees. Formed in 2007 by Tom and Carol Gaughan, the ministry’s goal is to improve the quality of life for those who are going toward retirement or have already retired.
Talks by experts have ranged from “Keeping Your Driver’s License”, “Wills and Trusts”, “Pope’s Visit to the U.S.”, “Study Trip to Turkey in the Year of St. Paul”, “Static in the Attic” or keeping your memory, to the “Many Services of St. Vincent de Paul”.
The ministry also supports the church financially and provides service to other ministries, such as selling chili and hot dogs at the Christmas Bazaar, soft drinks at the Food Festival, casino trips for the Music Ministry, turkeys for Social Concerns.
The 2009 chair and Executive Committee are: Chair, June McCabe, Vice-Chair, Loraine Schill, Secretary, Kathryn Luttrell and Treasurer, Erlinda Rael.
Luncheons and talks are held on the second Tuesday throughout the year in the Morris Center. Membership dues for this ministry are $10 per year. Prepared by the great kitchen crew of the ministry, the luncheons are $5 each. Non-members pay $6 and are more than welcome at any lunch.
