SUNDAY MASS FOR SHUT-INS
The Passionist Community is sponsoring a Sunday Mass on TV at 9:30AM.
It is broadcast from a beautiful chapel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You can view it on KSPX (also ION) which is channel 11 or 29 depending on your TV service.
The next Forever Young luncheon is May 11 in the Morris Hall. Please sign in by 11:45 a.m. so we may start promptly at noon. A square of St Clare square dancers will perform a demonstration of modern dancing which was voted as the national folk dance. Learn the history of square dancing and see the colorful attire of our dancers in their finery. You’ll be tapping your feet! Luncheon cost is $6 for members and $7 for guests. Our next Apologetics meeting will be on Monday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. on the East Side of the Parish Hall. Atheists are becoming more and more vocal in objecting to our faith even sponsoring billboard messages. We will look at non-believer’s objections to our belief in the After-Life and how we can answer their objections from the standpoint of science and reason.
Flea Market! April 24th!
It is time to get ready for our upcoming Parking Lot Flea Market at St. Clare’s. This event will be held on Saturday, April 24th. Spots are available for only $10. You may find a treasure that you just couldn’t find anywhere else!! This event is free and open to the public – come and enjoy a BBQ, sodas and bake sale. The Second Sunday of the Easter Season
Sometimes our faith is lifted by certain events or liturgical celebrations and we get a spiritual rush or ‘high.’ Last week was certainly one of those times. If we have truly participated in the liturgies of the Easter Triduum we earned that Joy of the Resurrection, but now that it has past we might settle back into our routine schedules where we experience doubts and the ‘lows.’ In fact, this Sunday use to be called ‘Low Sunday’ for that very reason. We need to keep up our Lenten resolutions and, in prayer, ask Jesus to bless us with a mature faith that carries us through all our emotions. Read the rest of this entry »
The next Forever Young luncheon will be held on Tuesday, April 13 in the Morris Center. Please sign in at 11:45 a.m. so that we may serve at 12 noon. Luncheon cost is $6 for members and $7 for guests. Our guest speaker is Richard Swanson of Bushnell Nursery in Granite Bay. Mr. Swanson has been the General Manager with 25 years of experience in his field. He will be giving us some valuable information on container/potting uses for home and yard plantings. Since spring has arrived, we all may use some helpful tips for gardening. Your reservations can be made by calling Arlene at 772-6061 or Carol at 780-1655.
April 8th- West Placer Deanery planning meeting at 7:00pm at Jericho Cafe. Help our committee plan our next few months.
April 9th- Movie & Pub Night starting at 7:00 pm at St. Peter & Paul in Rocklin. We will watch an oldie but goodie movie. Join us for our monthly west placer deanery young adult gathering.
April 11th & 25th - Our Young Adults with familiesgroup has started. We would love to have other young adults with families come join us twice a month at 10:00am in the Morris Hall. This exciting group will meet in the Morris Center. Parents will sharing scripture in the Lectio Divina process while the children are with some of our teenager’s playing and praying together. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Third Sunday of the Easter Season
The Readings for this, the Third Sunday of the Easter Season, continue to tell us about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ but with emphasis on how this unique and miraculous event became the seed of faith necessary to convince many people to accept Christ as Lord and Messiah. Without the Resurrection there would have been no proof that Jesus was sent from God and so the Resurrection becomes the basis for our belief, as well as, our salvation. Read the rest of this entry »
